Manaslu Circuit Trek

Mt. Manaslu stands as world’s 8th highest mountain at above 8,163 m and 26. 781 ft high first climbed by Japanese Expeditions way back on May 9th, 1956 since then it was a restricted area due to close border with Tibet- China where strong trade use to take place in early days.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu international airport received by our staff and guide with a warm welcome then transfer to your hotel in the center of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed in your rooms join for group briefing regarding your stay in Nepal, where guides will provide information about the trek-local lodge-hotels-culture and other necessary information related to this trekking.
Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu trek preparation with an optional tour around world heritage sites.
In Kathmandu, a free day preparation for Manaslu Circuit trekking with optional sightseeing around Kathmandu, as the valley is steeped with many world heritage sites and important monuments and religious-historical sites.
Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 700 m via Arughat – 06 hrs.
Early morning start taking an interesting overland journey to reach Nepal Mid-West around Gorkha district at Arughat town, and beyond to reach at first overnight stop in Soti-Khola by raging Buri-Gandaki River.
Day 04: Trek to Machhe-Khola 869 m – 05 hrs.
From Soti-Khola walk leads within warmer foothills and river valley following Buri-Gandaki River upstream and then heading into a gorge covered with forest, where route climb towards cooler areas walking for nearly four to five hours to reach our overnight stop at Machha-Khola. A moderate size farm village, as Maccha means Fish and Khola for the stream, popular fishing streams for the locals.
Day 05: Trek to Jagat 1,340 m- 06 hrs.
From Maccha-Khola fishing village, morning walk on Buri-Gandaki River upstream banks for some hours to reach Khorla-Beshi and then on winding path towards Tatopani a village with natural “Hot Spring,” as Tatopani means hot water /spring. Here time permitting to enjoy refreshing warm bathe and then continue to walk with a climb to Jagat village for an overnight stop, Jagat a lovely and large village with many shops and well-stocked stores, having nice and simple lodges for an overnight stay.
Day 06: Trek to Dyang 1,860 m – 06 hrs.
After a wonderful overnight stop at Jagat village, the walk continues heading higher past rural farm villages and on the downhill to cross a bridge to Nugget and then reaching at Philip, one of the large villages within this remote farm country with many scattered houses. From PhPhilipalk leads around farm terraces of golden agriculture fields of wheat, barley, as climb leads above rocky ridge within a forest of bamboo to reach at Deng village for oven overnight stop.
Day 07: Trek to Namrung 2,630 m – 05 hrs.
Morning walk from Dyang leads to a cooler area and increase in altitude, as route leads the higher country with short downhill to a river side to reach a place called Bihi Bazaar a small village near a river side. From Bihi where walk follows Burigandaki River, then crossing a river to enter small farm villages and cultivated farm fields of barley, wheat and millets to reach at Numrung village with first close views of Mt. Manaslu North Face and adjoining peaks. From here onwards where you can notice more villages of strong Tibetan influence with a similar culture of Buddhism all the way around high Manaslu valley.
Day 08: Trek to Lo-Gaon 3,180 m – 05 hrs.
With a nice overnight at Namrung, walk leads to more spread out farm fields and Yak herder huts and shelter, around this high Manaslu valley people are much engaged in farming during summer, where young folks in winter travels to big cities of Nepal and India for trade and to escape the cold winter. From here walk leads to high and scenic valley all the way to Lo Gaon a nice village for an overnight stop, this will be one of the attractive villages around Manaslu region, at Lo enjoy close views of towering Manaslu North Face, Around Lo, visit its monastery with numerous chhorten and Mani walls with views of Ganesh Himal towards east.
Day 09: Trek to Sama- Gaon 3,520 m – 05 hrs.
From Lo-Gaon walk gets easier with difference as high altitude gains heading with a slow and gradual climb with constant views of the mountain with Peak 29 ahead, after couple hour climb reaching into a patch of forest reaching at Shala village with an excellent view of Phungi, Manaslu and Himal Chuli. Walking for few hours further where day completes on reach Sama-Gaon village, with a superb view of Mt. Manaslu. Sama-Gaon village one of the largest within high Manaslu Valley, where natives are mostly farmers cultivating buck wheat, barley which are the main crops in this high and harsh terrain, potatoes and some high and cold vegetables are also grown.
Day 10: At Sama-Gaon with an est day for acclimatization and hike.
Enjoy rest or a spare day in Sama Gaon with excursion and hike around to support with acclimatization before heading higher area towards Larke-La, around Sama Gaon explore its nice and interesting village and witness local traditional culture with views of peaks.
Day 11: Trek to Samdo 3,875m – 05 hrs.
After a wonderful rest at Sama-Gaon, our walk leads to morning climb to reach at Samdo village which is not too far of few hours climb on upper terrain as high altitude and dry air makes the walk much slow. Walks slowly leads at Samdu village, the last village before Larke-la base and the high pass, at Samdu for overnight where you can witness this exciting village of strong Tibetan influence due to its closeness to Tibet border where at present trade across the border still exists.
Day 12: Trek to Dharmasala at the base of Larke-La pass 4,460 m- 04 hrs.
From Samdo walk leads to more barren areas, the adventure begins crossing Gyala Khola, and climb to a ridge with some ruins of a village known as Larke Bazaar. This village once thrive trade with Tibet over nearby Gya La, a trade which at present has ended but still goes on but less compared to early days. Walk leads near Larke Glacier reaching at Duwang, where the lodge is located for an overnight stop.
Day 13: Cross Larke-La Pass 5,160 m /16,929 ft and walk to Bhimthang 3,590 m – 08 hrs.
Starting much earlier in the morning to reach on top Larke-la Pass above 5,160 m, walk first heads to gradual winding uphill and then with steep climb to reach on the highest spot of the adventure on top Larke-La decorated with thousands of Buddhist colorful prayer flags and stones piles. From the top excellent views of Himlung, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru and Annapurna II, after a great moment where long downhill lead you over snow and scree, to reach a valley at Larcia. Further walk on moraine leads to Tambuche at 3,900m from here walk to overnight stop at Bhimtang, a beautiful place on a valley with number of good lodge to stay.
Day 14: Trek to Gho 2,760 m – 05 hrs.
From Bhimthang rest of the journey is much easier with downhill walks with some short climb on route to Gho and Dharapani villages, morning with views of peaks heading with gradual walk into thick alpine woodland. Walking into beautiful forested areas to reach a small clearing in the midst of woodland at Gho for an overnight stop, a small cattle and yak herders summer pasture and temporary settlement due to trekkers passing this route, where few lodges have been built to cater the needs of trekkers.
Day 15: Trek to Dharapani 1,963 m -05 hrs.
From Gho descend to a valley of Burdin Khola which is the base of west side of Manaslu, from a ridge with excellent view of Manaslu towards south east with Annapurna II in the south west. Our route leads over Dudh Khola, where descend follows a trail into a narrow valley within forest to reach our overnight stop amidst forest surrounding in perfect tranquility after 5 hours of good walk. From here walk on downhill into forest passing small summer settlement and then climb on a terraced fields to Karche La, and then down to Marysangdi River. After few hours walk reaching at Tilje village following Dudh (milky) river downstream, passing number of villages, including Thonje. From Tilje an hour and last climb of the journey on crossing a bridge and then joining at main trail of Annapurna circuit in Dharapani village. Dharapani a lovely large village will be a civilization after being in complete wilderness, where one can celebrate with a beer and buy hot shower from local lodge.
Day 16: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel – 06 hrs.
With memorable times in the high mountains and valley of Manaslu and Manang areas, where morning drive leads back to Kathmandu on an interesting hilly road with exciting time as drive leads past many nice farm villages and towns with views of mountains after six hours journey reaching in Kathmandu, and then transfer to your respective hotels.
Day 17: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.
Last day in the country of Himalayan wonders, after an amazing experience and wonderful adventure on Manaslu Circuit trekking with great service of Nepal High-Point Trekking and then depart from the hotel as per your flight time our staff transfers you to Kathmandu international airport for your home-ward flight or to next respective countries.
