Langtang Region
Langtang region is one of the popular trekking destination in Nepal. Langtang valley is the attraction of this region. There are no 8000m peaks here, but Langtang Lirung rises well over 7000m and its east face rears up for more than 3km. The village of Kyanjin Gompa is surrounded by snow peaks on all sides, and if you head further up the valley to the shrines of Langshisa Kharka, you’ll have breathtaking views all around. Langtang Himal region with first Himalayan country Langtang National Park established way back in the late 1970s which is excellent habitation of elusive and endangered Red Panda and other mountain animals and exotic bird life. Langtang Himal region located within Rasuwa district which an old and present route to reach the border of Tibet / China where the trail falls in Old Trans Himalayan Caravan and Salt Trade route. Langtang Himal region leads to fascinating walks around the traditional village of indigenous Tamang people the hill tribes of Langtang Himal interwoven with Buddhism culture and religion where walk leads you with impressive traditional farm life. The hills covered with tall rhododendron-pines and fir forest which adds to great scenery in springtime when wildflowers are in bloom with a great contrast of snow-capped peaks.
