Location
Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake are located in the Ngari region of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. The area lies in the Trans-Himalayan range, north of the main Himalayan chain, and remains one of the most remote and spiritually significant regions in the world.

Detailed Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you can relax and recover from your journey.
If time permits, a short briefing session will be आयोजित to introduce the yatra, review the itinerary, and explain important travel details including permits and documentation.
In the evening, you may explore the lively streets of Thamel for last-minute shopping or simply enjoy your first day in Nepal.
Today is dedicated to sightseeing and final preparations. After breakfast, you will visit major UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley.
Highlights include:
- Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) – offering panoramic city views
- Boudhanath Stupa – one of the largest Buddhist stupas
- Pashupatinath Temple – a sacred Hindu temple on the Bagmati River
The day also allows time for gear preparation and visa processing. A detailed yatra briefing will be conducted if not completed earlier.

Trip briefing and permit preparation will be completed.
Your overland journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the Nepal–Tibet border at Rasuwagadhi.
The route follows the Trishuli River, passing through hills, terraced fields, and local villages. A lunch stop will be made en route.
By evening, you will arrive at Rasuwagadhi and check into your accommodation.
After completing immigration formalities, you will cross into Tibet and drive to Kerung.
This short yet scenic journey marks your entry into the Tibetan plateau. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is reserved for acclimatization.
Today’s drive takes you across vast Tibetan landscapes toward Saga.
Expect stunning views of open plains, distant mountains, and traditional Tibetan settlements. The journey offers a unique glimpse into remote Himalayan life.
A long but rewarding drive leads you to the sacred Mansarovar Lake.
Along the way, you will cross high passes and witness breathtaking Himalayan scenery. Upon arrival, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and spiritual ambiance of the lake.
Begin the day with sunrise views over Mansarovar Lake. Optional rituals and prayers can be performed.
After completing a scenic drive around the lake, continue to Darchen, the base for Mount Kailash Kora. A briefing will be provided for the upcoming trek.
Drive to Yam Dwar, the starting point of the Kailash Kora, and begin your trek.
The trail follows a gradual ascent with spectacular views of Mount Kailash. By afternoon, you will reach Derapuk, where you will stay overnight.
This day allows your body to adjust to the altitude. You may take an optional hike toward Charan Sparsh, offering closer views of Mount Kailash.
Alternatively, you can rest and explore the surroundings.
The most challenging yet rewarding day of the yatra.
You will cross Dolma La Pass (5,650 m), the highest point of the journey. The route includes steep ascents and descents, followed by a gradual walk to Zuthulphuk.
After completing the final stretch of the Kora, you will meet your vehicle and drive back to Saga.
This day offers time to reflect on the spiritual journey and achievements of the past days.
Begin your return journey toward Nepal. The drive back offers familiar yet equally beautiful landscapes.
After crossing the border, continue your drive back to Kathmandu.
Optional helicopter transfer is available for a quicker and more scenic return.
A buffer day reserved for rest or exploration.
You may choose to:
- Visit Patan or Bhaktapur Durbar Square
- Enjoy local cuisine and shopping
- Take a short excursion to nearby viewpoints

Your journey concludes today. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
