Description
Morning: Scenic Drive from Kathmandu
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a scenic drive along the Arniko Highway, an ancient trade route linking Nepal with Tibet. Enjoy views of terraced farmland, rural villages, and rolling hills throughout the journey.
Dhulikhel
Arrive in Dhulikhel, a historic Newar town with over 500 years of history. The town is renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan panoramas, including Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal Himal, and the majestic Gaurishankar. Take time to explore local streets, temples, and viewpoints while experiencing the area’s rich cultural heritage.
Namobuddha (Sacred Buddhist Site)
Continue to Namobuddha, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal. According to legend, this is where the future Buddha selflessly offered his body to a starving tigress and her cubs—an ultimate symbol of compassion.
Visit the three stupas, monastery, and the revered stone engraving that marks the believed location of this sacred act. The peaceful hilltop setting offers an ideal environment for reflection and spiritual connection.
Panauti
After Namobuddha, drive to Panauti, an ancient town located about 32 km southeast of Kathmandu and listed as a UNESCO Tentative World Heritage Site since 1996. Once a royal dowry town during the Malla period, Panauti is rich in temples, courtyards, and traditional Newar architecture.
Explore Indreswor Temple, Panauti Durbar Square (Layaku), and walk through quiet streets that reflect centuries of cultural continuity.
